Come learn the piano!

Whether you are after serious piano training or just want to play for the pleasure of it, I can help you achieve your musical goals.
I teach all styles with a particular focus on classical music and experimental improvisation. Lessons are held at my home studio in Coburg (or at your home, depending on availability), are open to students of all ages and abilities and are tailored to meet each student’s specific needs. Music theory and composition lessons are also available.

As a piano teacher my focus is on laying down a strong technical and musical foundation for my students in order to facilitate their development to more advanced levels. As part of this, I work with students in developing a sense of critical self-awareness regarding performance and the process of musical learning. Students are exposed to a wide variety of works from the piano repertoire, including lesser-known composers and compositions from more recent eras, while maintaining the rigour of a classical training in approaching all the challenges of learning the instrument.

Eli Simic-Prosic

I recently graduated from the University of Melbourne with a Bachelor of Music and am currently pursuing my 4th-year Honours degree in Music Composition. I have been playing the piano for over 15 years and am passionate about teaching it and seeing my students grow musically. As a performer my interest lies in exploring contemporary as well as classical repertoire and experimental improvisation, particularly long-form. Recent performance highlights include holding a piano concert of my compositions in Belgrade (Serbia), performing Stravinsky’s trio arrangement of The Soldier’s Tale for a Masters-level recital, performing at Government House as part of Australia Day celebrations and participating as a pianist-improviser in an installation art work at the Australian Centre for Contemporary Art.
