piano lessons are at Browning Street Studios in West End and at my home in Woolloongabba.

Limited spaces available for new students.
Lessons are from 7:30am till late.

$37 for 30min per lesson and payments are by term only.

Lessons can be taught in Japanese or English.　 日本語でのピアノレッスンが可能です。

My lessons are fun, interactive, encouraging and students love playing the piano. I carefully choose the text books to suit indivisuals need once they get to certain levels but first we use Suzuki and John Thompson for piano playing and theory book as well.
Youngest student is 3 years old at the moment and with her, I use rhythm card, magnet board, singing and also play the piano.
There are performance oppotunities for my students at least twice a year and they all learn to play by memory. Some students play with their siblings or parents or me.
I help finding the right level song for the students who wish to play particular songs. If we can not find the right leve, I arrange the music for my students and they love it!

With Suzuki students, they have teachers concert to go and see their teachers perform, workshop to go to, us the teachers are training to be better teachers always and have recitals as well.

Momo Hamada

Momo Hamada, originally from Nara, Japan is a passionate performer and teacher currently based in Brisbane, Australia. Music has been part of Momo’s life from the beginning, having started piano lessons when she was 3 years old. Momo is a graduate of Osaka College of Music where she studied classical piano performance under Michiya Otake and Osaka School of Music where she studied popular music performance with Mutsuhito Murakami.

Momo is active as a performer in Australia and Japan and collaborated on projects for Brisbane Fringe Festival, BrisFest Nara and in 2011 organised a massed benefit concert in Brisbane for the victims of the Tohoku Tsunami. Momo has been an active singer all her life and has toured with, directed, accompanied and sung in many choirs. Passionate about passing on Japan’s traditional culture to the next generation, Momo has spent many hours visiting elders in remote villages in South Nara learning traditional nursery rhymes called warabeuta. She runs workshops teaching these to Japanese and western children throughout Australia.

Momo currently teaches piano and directs a Japanese choir at Browning Street Studios and performs in the duo engkau.
