Alexander Nettelbeck is an internationally recognized musician with over fifteen years experience teaching all levels from beginners to advanced/professional.

Alexander offers private piano and music composition lessons from the Studio at Glenferrie Rd Malvern. Lessons are held on a beautiful Wertheim piano which is very nice to play.

Alexander encourages students to play piano confidently in the music of their choice as well as giving students the opportunity and skills to experience the joy of music making in a range of musical styles.

Classically and jazz trained, Alexander has recorded and toured throughout Australia, Europe, Asia and New Zealand working with a diverse variety of artists in many musical idioms from jazz, to folk, swing, reggae, blues, R&B, bossa nova and world music.

Areas taught include:

•how to develop great piano and keyboard playing skills, understanding melodies, chords, scales and arpeggios

•improving aural/listening and sight reading abilities

•playing new pieces from classical, jazz and contemporary popular repertoire

• how to be creative in improvisation- based contemporary music styles

•audition, concert, exam or recording preparation for pianists and singers

•lessons for songwriters and music producers in styles including jazz, latin, r&b, pop/rock, dance and world music styles

Lesson times: 1/2 hour, 45 minute and 1 hour lessons are available by appointment Monday-Saturday

All prospective students are required to have an initial lesson to determine their musical abilities and interests. A program for further development in piano will be then structured to meet the individual needs and requirements.
