Piano tuition and musicianship

Introduction to piano; learn the essential skills on which to build. I use modern piano teaching methods to make learning the piano an enjoyable experience. A pupil should feel a sense of achievement at every lesson and look forward to learning more.
I also teach late starters, musicianship and a wide range of styles.
I started learning at the age of seven, competing and undertaking examinations until the age of eighteen. I play a range of music from Beethoven to Debussy, Cole Porter to Oscar Peterson.

I started learning piano when I was seven in the days when it was quite a brutal affair. I competed for the first time after nine months of tuition followed by many more competitions and examinations culminating in the Leeds junior competition when I was seventeen. I have played ever since and more recently in ensemble work. A few years ago I stepped in as repetiteur to prepare a soprano friend of mine for a recital of Rossini songs for Dame Joan Sutherland.

Qualifications -

• Royal Schools of Music (England) level 8 with distinction. A great deal of performance and competition.
