Piano Lessons

Lessons are held at Ashley’s home studio based in Ellenbrook on an Acoustic Upright Piano. New students are required to be a minimum age of 8 years old before beginning lessons and receive their first lesson free of charge. All Lessons incorporate both Theory & Musicianship exercises. Students maybe required to purchase their own music books if needed on an individual basis, Music Mart in Midland is a great local shop for purchasing these music books.

Play Piano Ellenbrook offer AMEB preparation for Piano, Theory & Musicianship Exams. AMEB stands for the Australian Music Examination Board which hold the highest standard of Music Grading in Australia. Universities in Australia require the completion of the AMEB to apply for entrance into their Music courses. Exams are usually completed yearly depending on the individuals progress. Piano exams are held from April till November and all other exams are held year round.

Play Piano Ellenbrook offer the opportunity for all students to perform at the Joondalup Eisteddfods each year if they choose to enter. Performing at concerts are a great way for students to build their confidence and witness other students playing to build motivation.

Ashley Swift

My name is Ashley and I teach Piano from my home studio here in Malvern Springs, Ellenbrook.
I have over ten years experience teaching Piano in both private practice from my home studio and at various Music Academies around Perth e.g Mega Music Myaree, Advanced Music Ellenbrook, Clarkson & Malaga.
I first started learning piano when I was ten years old after many years of asking my parents if I could begin lessons. During my years of private lessons I completed to my AMEB grade 6 Classical Piano Certificate & AMEB grade 4 Theory of Music Certificate. I also competed at the Joondalup Eisteddfods in 2002 & 2001 where I came both in first place.
I love teaching my students the joys of playing the Piano especially Classical Music and watching them grow and develop over the years is a very rewarding experience.
