Piano Lessons

- I have a bachelor of music from the Queensland Conservatorium, and am constantly updating my piano teaching skills

- My students get great results in exams (mostly awarded B+ or A)

- I teach from my home studio, so your child won’t have the distraction of 20 other instrumental lessons drifting through the walls like they would at a music school

- My students play lots and lots and lots of pieces, not just “3 pieces a year for the exam.” This allows them to develop the skills to become independent musicians.

- I have a YouTube channel (youtube.com/tinymozarts) where I have demonstrated hundreds of pieces so my students have a reference point to help them with any practice dramas during the week

Beth Alcock - B.Mus

I am employed as a piano teacher at St Peters Lutheran College, as well as offering piano lessons from my home studio. I have a Bachelor of Music, and I continually seek out new professional development opportunities to keep my qualifications up to date and my teaching ideas fresh. I want my students to have the best opportunity to succeed at learning piano, and to be given the tools to play expressively with musicality and flair.

It is my goal to help my students develop into confident, skilled pianists and independent musicians. I have an enormous (and growing!) library of piano music to keep lessons varied and interesting, and manipulatives for teaching music theory concepts. I teach with an acoustic piano next to a digital piano so I can play duets with students and demonstrate tone, dynamics, rhythm, co-ordination and articulation.
