Calista Yeoh

Calista has studied music ever since the age of four and has performed internationally and locally in both singing and piano. Throughout the years, she has performed numerously at the Sydney Opera House and in concert halls, and has also been given the opportunity to perform internationally since 2010. Additionally, she has accompanied over 200 school choirs and orchestras in many recital halls.
Studying under Associate Professor Stephanie McCallum, she has won various piano eisteddfods since the age of nine. Recently, she won the Sutherland Shire and St George Youth Music Awards, and has obtained over 60 prizes from piano competitions such as St George Eisteddfod, Sydney Eisteddfod and Sutherland Shire Eisteddfod. She was successful in winning the ‘People’s Choice Award’ for the Sutherland and St George Music Eisteddfod in 2012, and has also recorded with radio stations such as 2MBS.FM on numerous occasions.

As a dedicated teacher, Calista has a strong passion for teaching. She believes each student has their own unique desires and ways of communication, and in doing so, she loves working individually with each student, and helping them achieve their personal aims in music. She takes great pleasure in inspiring her students to enjoy performing and playing music, and watching them grow to their full potential. Calista not only focuses upon developing a student’s musical expression, but also aims toward helping students with their aural and theory skills. For this reason, her lessons are often an amalgamation of aural, theory and practical skills.
