I am classically trained and first studied AMEB grade and completed TEE music.I then furthered my studies and graduated from WAAPA specialising in Jazz performance and have completed my Grad Dip. Education at UWA.I have taught at school and have performed around Perth with different groups as well as solo for recitals & weddings. I believe in method and classical training for developing piano technique and skill but also specialise in ear training and teaching musical awareness.

I use different methods for beginners depending on learning style and teach piano technique and use selected repertoire for developing music theory and understanding. I also have taught students preparing for AMEB and high school performance exams but also teach jazz and contemporary genres and improvising(playing by ear).

I assess students’ goals as well as prior knowledge and ability before commencing regular lessons also to ensure my lessons will be right for them and effective.

My teaching knowledge and experience can help remove a lot of stress in students who have had trouble learning the piano and also encourage beginners to continue learning with passion after the first few weeks. Students who follow my guidance and method will get results.
