Private Personalised Piano Lessons

Hi there! My name is Dominic – I love people, I love sharing knowledge and I love being able to be a part of the success journey of many others.

I am a classically trained pianist who has been graded at the AMusA level and enjoys both teaching and playing all styles of music. I am able to teach many modalities of piano, whether that is classical piano for grading or playing ‘Let It Go’ from Disney’s Frozen.

My lessons are specifically catered for the student themselves; I understand what the student needs and tailor their lessons to be as effective as possible. I engage through linking all the musical concepts together instead of compartmentalising aspects of music to ensure they develop into a well rounded musician.

The style I teach in strives to be engaging, but also achieve the goal of the lesson. This has been refined through three years of teaching students, and understanding that students learn and benefit most when they are able to enjoy music rather than struggle through it.

I ensure that not only the playing aspect is worked on, but also what is required to succeed in the musical environment. This is inclusive of training the ear, improvisation and other techniques that are considered ‘supplementary’ – but I believe are simply required to develop as a musician.

I offer lessons whether for pursuing music as a hobby or for examination purposes. I also particularly specialise in introducing young children into the world of music along with keeping them motivated and intrigued to constantly learn more.

In terms of what I am able to cover:
-Piano for fun (classical, pop, rock, movie themes, etc)
-Piano for examination (AMEB, ABRSM)
-Music Theory
-Music/Piano for children (I possess a valid Working With Children’s check)
-Piano for beginners
