Piano Lessons - Making Music

Want to learn how to create music on a Piano? Tired of learning four pieces from an AMEB book that teaches you nothing of harmony and improvisation?

You’ve come to the right place.

My piano tutoring style is specific to teaching harmony and how to understand music rather than just playing pieces and practising scales for hours. Lessons can be based on Jazz, Popular Music, Soul Music or whatever style you like – while learning about improvisation and composition.

These lessons are not for students wishing to sit AMEB exams. In my experience, AMEB does more to discourage students as it makes music seem like homework, rather than to encourage a love and passion for music.

I choose to teach about how music works and how to create it, rather than to an annual Exam which simply requires you to play a few pieces and scales well. Exceptions are made, however it’s quite rare. :)
