Suzuki Piano Lessons

I teach the Japanese Suzuki method which is based on the mother-tongue approach which has a major emphasis on ear training and learning/playing from memory. Students will imitate the sound produced by the teacher/a take home CD alongside the correct physical move to better achieve the sound needed. Students as young as four are able to participate in lessons and greater success rate has been shown with younger students when beginning with the Suzuki method.

This method of teaching has a high emphasis on musicality and enables the student to develop their musical skills alongside their technique before having to focus on reading notes so that when reading is introduced, the student is already proficient in the musical/technical basics of the piano.

I am a refent graduate at the university of Queensland and have played the piano for 20 years and have studied the Suzuki method for 10 years where I was able to immensely improve and develop as a musician and as a piano soloist. I am currently undertaking Suzuki method training and teach alongside my training.
