Teacher – Hilaria Yeung:
Qualifications: Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance (Queensland Conservatorium), Master of Music Therapy (University of Queensland), Registered Music Therapist (Australian Music Therapy Association), Blue Card (QLD)

Hilaria Yeung is a classically trained pianist as well as a registered music therapist. Her tertiary studies and musical experiences have not only given her strong music knowledge and performing skill but also knowledge of growth and development, and strategies to engage with each individual through music. Hilaria has studied piano pedagogy at the Conservatorium, and taught more than a hundred students in music schools as well as privately in both individual and group piano/music lessons over the past 6 years. She enjoys teaching piano and music to children and adults from different backgrounds and abilities, and is able to teach different styles ranging from classical to pop.

Hilaria is a friendly, patient and positive teacher who is always willing to put extra effort into understanding each student’s needs, discovering their strengths and helping them reach their goals in their music learning journey. Apart from piano playing techniques, she also emphasises on developing students’ musicality to help them become a true musician rather than just a ‘piano player’.

Sowing Music is a private music studio located in Indooroopilly, Brisbane. It is founded by Hilaria Yeung who is a registered music therapist, music educator and pianist. Our studio aims to provide quality and professional music tuition and music therapy services to people of all ages, backgrounds and abilities.

We strive to provide professional music services to our clients/students by using high quality equipment and materials, and paying attention to every detail (from the setup of the studio, to the design of every music program for our clients/students). We love to see our clients/students grow musically as well as personally through the music experiences they have at Sowing Music!

Music Teacher and Therapist – Hilaria Yeung:

Hilaria Yeung is a classically trained pianist, registered music therapist and music educator. She holds a Master of Music Therapy (University of Queensland) and a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance (Queensland Conservatorium).

Her tertiary studies and musical experiences have not only given her strong music knowledge and performing skill but also knowledge of growth and development, and strategies to engage with each individual through music.

Hilaria has taught music/piano to more than a hundred students over the past 6 years in both individual and group lessons and she enjoys working with children and adults from different backgrounds and abilities. She is always willing to put extra effort into understanding each student’s needs and helping them reach their goals in their music learning journey.

Also as a music therapist, Hilaria has a strong mission to contribute her music knowledge and therapy skill to help children and adults with special needs and disabilities to grow and live a better life. She has related music therapy clinical experience in special education, organisational and private settings. She also has gained clinical experience in hospitals in the areas of child and youth mental health, and geriatric rehabilitation.
