Janine Vu (AMusA)

Piano lessons, music theory/ musicianship lessons, aural and sight-reading class

General introduction to music for beginners including practice and piano technique, hand positions, correct posture, basic music theory and note-reading exercises.

Intermediate and more advanced music lessons with an emphasis on appreciating the expansive capabilities of the piano, including effective pedal technique, creating depth of sound, layering voices and capturing certain moods and varying styles required by each piece.

I’m very passionate about teaching music because it’s something that gives people so many opportunities to express themselves, explore new territories and connect and communicate with others.

I’ve had a lot of experience teaching music to children in particular. I was previously a music tutor at Neta Maughan’s piano studio and have studied piano with her for 8 years.

My students not only learn to express and explore their emotions through music but they also grow and gain confidence as individuals.
