Piano lessons

Jim Patterson provides piano lessons aimed at nurturing the enjoyment of music. Students will learn about piano playing from an aural perspective rather than a mathematical approach. This method allows for a much more wholesome understanding of music and is very rewarding to the student.
Students will become capable of figuring out how to play their favorite tunes, jam with friends, write songs and play for others.
Technique and theory are incorporated into this approach, as a tool for the expression of music.

Jim Patterson

Jim Patterson studied jazz piano at the VCA, completing his Bachelor degree in 2006. Since then Jim has been involved in several jazz and rock groups and performed at many venues including Hamer Hall, The Palace, Bennett’s Lane Jazz Club, Manchester Lane Jazz Club, Federation Square, The Northcote Social Club and East Brunswick Club.
Jim currently plays keyboards for the alt/country group Khancoban, writes and performs his own music and works as a freelance keyboardist around Melbourne.
