It is recognised that learning a musical instrument provides benefits at all ages – for the young student it is beneficial as part of an all-round education and helpful in developing a love of music and an appreciation of the discipline needed in learning new tasks .
For older students learning to play a musical instrument is beneficial In stimulating activity in multiple areas of the brain and is helpful in maintaining cognitive function .

I have had several years experience in teaching harp , piano,and theory of music both as a private teacher and as part of a school education system . Students have taken lessons both for their personal enjoyment and as preparation for examinations in both AMEB and Trinity-Guildhall colleges .
