Piano Lessons

I offer individually designed piano lessons for any student interested in the study of classical, contemporary or improvised music. My goal with beginner students is to introduce them to the enriching world of the musical experience and inspire in them a love for creativity, while I offer to more advanced students a deeper insight into the technicalities of the piano and the possibilities for profound self-expression through music. My teaching philosophy is that the study of music is analogous to any process of skill acquisition in life, and the techniques learned at the piano can be applied throughout one’s life. Whether you are a professional, amateur or beginner musician, music can positively influence all areas of the human experience!

Joel Trigg

I am a professional freelance jazz musician with a wealth of performance experience in Melbourne’s improvised music scene. I perform regularly at the Paris Cat Jazz Club, Bennetts Lane Jazz Club, Uptown Jazz Cafe and other venues in the inner city. In 2012 I completed VCE Music Solo Performance in Classical Piano with 3 A+, and in 2014 I received an A+ for my AMEB Grade 6 examination. In 2015 I completed my Bachelor of Music in Jazz Piano at Monash University, and I continue to study classical piano with esteemed Australian concert pianist, Linda Kouvaras.It is my great pleasure to teach students of all ages in Classical, Jazz, Blues and Contemporary piano styles!
