Joy Music

Joy is an experienced musician, vocalist and instrumentalist who has been teaching for three years. She plays the violin, flute, guitar, piano, harp, ukulele and bass.
She has studied music and teaching extensively and has experience with children and adults of all ages and abilities.

Joy also has experience in tuition for people with disabilities.

Joy has taught at the Australian Academy of Music and currently is a teaching assistant for the Voicebox choir for young adults with disabilities. She has experience in solos, duets, group ensembles, rock bands, church and orchestra music. She has performed with many orchestras and choirs including the University of Queensland Chorale and Symphony Orchestra and the Queensland Philharmonia Orchestra.

Joy will teach you all you need to know about music and your choice of instrument. Music is so much fun and has many cognitive and psychological benefits.

You can learn classical, popular music, rock, or new age styles.
Every student is different and Joy will tailor an appropriate program to suit your needs and what you would like to learn.

Grade 8 Violin with merit – Trinity London College
Grade 8 Piano with merit – Royal School of Music
Grade 5 Theory with distinction – Royal School of Music
Bachelor of Arts Extended Major in Music – University of Queensland
