Katherine Curnow has been singing since age seven and vocally trained since age nine in both classical and contemporary styles and studied Contemporary Music (Voice) at the prestigious Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts.

Katherine maintained a heavy performance and teaching schedule in Perth, prior to moving to London in 2011, including performing at The Ellington Jazz Club, venues across Perth and various private functions and special events. Whilst in London, she performed as a backing vocalist at Bush Hall, The Troubadour and Bloomsbury Ballroom for fellow Australian singer/songwriter Kirsty Keogh, as well as playing in her acoustic duo at various venues and events around London.

Her teaching style focuses heavily on the importance of maintaining and developing correct vocal technique irrespective of vocal style, with lessons comprising of breathing and warm up exercises, scales, performance and stage presence, tips on self promotion and handling vocal problems. She is able to teach all contemporary vocal styles and specialises in soul and R&B.

She has experience in private one-on-one tuition from the ages of six to 48, has taught in music schools, has experience in teaching small groups and developed a choir programme.

All lessons are catered towards the individual and are designed to meet the needs, level and goals for each student.

All lessons are based in Perth, WA, however, Skype lessons are also available.
