Piano Lessons

I have many years of experience teaching young children piano and keyboard and I always ensure that the lessons contain not only keyboard education but also music games and activities that broaden their playing, reading and rhythmic skills. This makes the lessons fun for everyone involved!

I have also taught many teenage and adult students who are interested in beginning a new instrument, or are playing at an intermediate level and want to expand their skills. All lessons are catered to the individual’s interests and needs.

I am a qualified Music Teacher and Speech Pathologist and have been teaching piano, singing, and music theory to children and adults of all ages since 2003. In that time I have held singing and piano teacher positions at various Victorian High Schools and also have two years of experience teaching singing and piano in bilingual schools in Berlin, Germany. I have experience in preparing students for ANZCA, AMEB, VCE Solo Performance and Group Performance exams.

I love to teach lessons in a way that caters to each individual student, as everybody has a different style and taste! Most of all I want my students to look forward to coming to their lessons. I do this by creating a warm environment where they feel comfortable to express themselves and learn.

Some other background info:
My Speech Pathology qualification (Melbourne University) has given me extensive knowledge of voice physiology and allows me to teach healthy vocal techniques to people of all abilities. This qualification has also informed my solid understanding of child development, which I use to shape the progression of music lessons for children of many different ages.

I completed my Bachelor of Music (Jazz/Popular Singing) in 2006 with High Distinctions in Performance and Composition, and completed a Diploma of Education (Music) at Monash University in 2007, receiving a Dean’s Award for outstanding academic results. I am a fully registered member of the Victorian Institute of Teaching and hold a current Working With Children Check.
