Finding the right teacher is primitive in the cultivation for great musicianship at the piano therefore it is my pleasure to offer my experience and tutelage for students of all ages. Please view my general details to get to know me!

My studio is located in Point Cook therefore any students who live in the Western surrounding suburbs such as Williamslanding, Werribee, Hoppers Crossing, Altona, Williamstown etc will find lessons most suitable as it will be easier to travel to my studio.

My rates include $35 for half an hour, $50 for 45 minutes and $70 for an hour. For advanced grades, prices may vary from $80-100 depending on AMEB preparation.

Ling Ling Chen

Hi there, I’m Ling Ling and am offering classical piano lessons to students of all ages in my studio located primarily in Point Cook.

I am enthusiatic and passionate about making and teaching music, sharing my philosophy that music should be learnt with enjoyment and fun thus inviting students to “want” and “desire” to learn. I will gladly share my experience and knowledge gained through masterclasses both nationally and internationally (Ronald Farren Price, Benjamin Martin, Christopher Elton etc) as well as the tutelage I’ve received from Yian Zheng, Glenn Riddle and Igor Machlak. Students will be playing on a 7’6 Yamaha C7 concert grand, which ultimately introduces them to a more quality instrument giving them more exposure and experience on grand pianos.

I have a plethora of experiences in teaching, performing and accompanying including:
-Performed in various venues throughout Australia and internationally (BMW Edge, Melbourne Recital Centre, Austral Salon, St Johns Southgate, Melba Hall, Verbrugghen Hall, RACV club, Park Hyatt, Asam Hall Ettlingen Schloss and the ABC Iwaki Auditorium).
-Been broadcasted on 2MBS + 3MBS for solo and chamber comittments.
-Competition successes include being the recipient of the Matana Foundation Scholarship for Young Musicians at the 2012 Allison/Henderson Piano Award, competitor in the Ettlingen International Piano Competition, competitor in the Lev Vlassenko International Piano Competition, gold medalists/1st prize winners in solo and chamber sections of local eisteddfods (Boorandara, Geelong, Mordiallic, MSV, Dandenong, South Eastern Arts Festival, Sydney).
-Solo concerto engagements with the Preston Symphony orchestra and Victorian College of the Arts orchestra.
-Performed with the firebird trio the Beethoven triple concerto under Marco Van Pagee’s baton.
-Accompanied various exams, competitors and auditions for classical and music theatre musicians from singers to instrumentalists.
-Completed Music Styles, Music Performance and received the Premiers Award for VCE Music Investigation with a raw score of 50.
-Completed grade 8 AMEB exam with a high distinction at the age of 8 being the youngest at the time.
-Educational background includes the June Pascoe academic/music scholarship to Westbourne Grammar School, full scholarship to the Victorian College of the Arts Secondary School and am currently commencing honours year at Bachelor of Music degree at the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music under Igor Machlak.
