About me:
Natalie Scalia has recently graduated from the Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University with a Bachelor of music. Within the courses and environment provided by the prestigious University, Natalie has gained substantial experience in several areas of interest including musicology, pedagogy and performance. During her Conservatorium studies Natalie has had the opportunity to work under a variety of accomplished piano mentors including Oleg Stepanov, Natasha Vlassenko and Diane Selmon.
Over the past four years, Natalie has set up her own mobile teaching business and become a valued piano and theory teacher at the highly reputable Inna Kogan’s Music School. She has also gained over 7 years of experience in accompanying a wide variety of ensembles, soloists for examinations (both at tertiary level and AMEB grade levels), as well as within Chamber ensembles and Conservatorium competitions such as the Sonata Prize for strings and piano (finalist in 2015) and the Margaret Nixon Prize for voice and piano.
In future, Natalie plans on continuing to grow as a pedagogue, accompanist and researcher through further postgraduate studies. Her aspiration is to become a reputable researcher and passionate teacher who helps contribute to the growing Australian music culture.
