YOUR LESSONS:
Hi there, my name is Ronald. I am offering piano and theory lessons to students at my studio in Balwyn North.
It is my teaching philosophy that each and every student has fun and enjoys their time at the instrument. Lessons are inspiring, enjoyable, rewarding, and I am patient in accomodating to my students and their parents’ needs. Passion in cultivating musical expression in my students is a must, and I aim for them to find the beauty that music can bring to their lives. I am determined in my teaching methods to unlock every students potential and help the student achieve their goals. Lessons are focussed on tailoring a course individually suited to students ambitions, age and ability. In doing so, students and parents never feel hesitant to approach me.
Sessions will be conducted on a 7’3” Yamaha grand piano, allowing all students to gain early exposure to a quality instrument, which is often a detrimental oversight by parents and teachers. My students are often eager to come back to lessons and play on the beautiful instrument.
Recommended lesson duration for greatest progression is 1 hour, although 45 minutes may be more appropriate for younger children. I tend to avoid 30 minute sessions but exceptions can be made.
ABOUT YOUR TEACHER:
I am a tertiary qualified (University of Melbourne) pianist with successes both nationally and internationally. I have won prizes and scholarships throughout Australia and have been a prize winner in the USA at the IIYM International Piano Competition and Festival. I have engaged with numerous professional orchestras in Australia performing a range of major concertos, most notably Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 2 at Hamer Hall, The Arts Centre, Melbourne.
At the age of 10, I received my Associate in Music (AMusA) diploma from the Australian Music Examinations Board and was the youngest recipient of this dipoma at the time. At 12, I received my Licenciate in Music (LMusA). I have studied under the tutelage of Leon Lifschitz and Glenn Riddle, both leading pedagogues. I have participated in a number of master classes around the world and have gained invaluable insight into various teaching methods. With 17 years of playing and performance experience, I have taught a variety of students ranging from beginner children to advanced adults and am both comfortable and passionate in doing so. I have had the privilege to receive the correct teaching guidance to help me truly enjoy what I do and as a result achieve my greatest potential.
My dream is to do the same for you.
