A wide range of skills is covered in lessons, including technique, aural skills, theoretical understanding, music reading, memorisation, ensemble playing and improvisation. Special attention is given to developing beautiful tone, musicality and technique right from the very first lessons.



Sally Dimsey

Calling all students with a passionate desire to create beautiful music. Sally Dimsey has been teaching piano and music theory for over 24 years, and would love to help inspire and equip you to achieve your musical dreams.
Sally studied piano with Abe Cytrynowski (inventor of the scalecard system) and was then trained in piano performance by Ronald Farren-Price at the University of Melbourne. Her lessons are based in Vermont, Melbourne, and cater to the needs of a wide range of students, from beginner to advanced, and for exams or leisure. Her students have achieved excellent results throughout her career, achieving A, B, and A+ in exams. As an expert sight reader, herself, Sally places a special importance on the impartation of sight reading skills to her students, as well as a thorough technical grounding.
