I have been teaching piano for 30 years. I began with the traditional approach of reading music as students learn to play and progressing through the AMEB exam programme.
In the last 5 years i have trained in teaching the Simply Music method because it teaches students to play, improvise, accompany simple songs and compose from the beginning. Reading from music follows after the student has some confidence in playing.
I also teach music – singing and recorder at a private school in Kingston – Tarremah Stiener School
